Restoration of Brick Church
Fundraising has begun to restore the old brick church. We thank you for your kind support!
On Sunday, October 1, 1899 the newly constructed wooden church was dedicated by Bishop George Montgomery.
It so happened that St. George was the bishop's patron Saint, thus he dedicated the new church in honor of St. George.
The old brick church located on ‘D’ Street was constructed and dedicated in 1923. The belfry and bells could be seen for miles. Its presence dominated the center of the city. It was designed to seat 400 parishioners.
